NEHGS findings

The New England Historical and Genealogical Register has open access for the Thanksgiving weekend and it’s hard to get on sometimes. They are swamped. I found a muster roll for Capt John King’s Company, August 1, 1775. Oliver Warren of New Salem is listed. I’ll send the images to Jennifer.

I think I may have found a possible link for Calvin Gaines. I found a Captain Solomon Gaines who married a Sarah Ford and had the following children Luther, Calvin, John, Lureny, Hannah, and Amy. He was born in 1756 and Sarah, 1755. It’s possible that they could be the parents of my Calvin Gaines. The Descendants of Henry Gaines of Lynn, Mass says he left no children but they may have either died before him or moved out of the area, say to Ohio or something. The Solomon M.Gaines born to Solomon Gaines and Nancy Gossard died in 1833 at the age of 1 year, 10 months so he couldn’t be a direct ancestor.
